Like so many before me I discovered this site by visiting the youtube page, and I have to say that it was a no brainer to do so. I'm an old school anime fan. and I guess that I just want to discuss one of my favorite series with fellow fans. Hope to see you all real soon, and talk to you as well.
Again welcome to the forum and glad you could join us ^^ By old school anime do you mean gundam wing and yu yu hakusho old, or original mobile suit gundam and ronin warriors old? I hope that question makes sense...

It's a little of both actually. While I do enjoy the newer stuff, I'm still a bigger fan of the shows that came before. Shows like Gundam Wing, Yu Yu Hakusho, Gundam 08 MS Team, Ronin Warriors, Voltron, Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Outlaw Star, Stardust Memory, Street Fighter II: The Movie, Fatal Fury The Motion Picture...stuff along those lines.
The Great Rivera: We have some similar tastes then ^^ A lot of those shows are ones I grew up watching on Toonami but because of school, and other things back then I've only seen so many episodes of each. So these past few years I've been re-watching all the shows I can. Granted I do like and watch a lot of the newer shows too but they're all going in the cgi and cell-shading direction... I will always love and prefer the older animation styles.
I also just recently watched the Gundam 08 MS Team series for the first time and bought the movie (Miller's Report) from slackers last week.
Hello, Rivera, and welcome to the forums. I must admit actually, I've only watched the original 1979 series of Gundam, Mobile Suit Gundam. So I can't actually judge any of the modern series of Gundam, but I hear they're similar to a lot of recent mech series, whereas Mobile Suit Gundam is obviously one of the originals.
You've also reminded me to watch Street Fighter II: The Movie. Hopefully it will be enjoyable for all the good reasons, rather than the wrong reasons from the Tekken anime. (It was laughably bad.)

In regards to the Street Fighter II: The Movie, it's good for all the right reasons. It has most, if not all the major characters, good fight scenes, and character motivations that make sense. It's by no means something that can be considered a masterpiece, but if you're a fan, you're really going to enjoy it. I would also suggest The Fatal Fury movie as well.

I miss the detail, and gritty feel that the old hand draw series had. Just something I grew up with, and wish they would go back to it more. As for anime, I do enjoy the newer series like Gundam AGE, Seed, Gurren Laggan, Tiger and Bunny, and Sacred Seven.
