Hi, sorry for the late introductions, but I'm Lord-Idolo. If you frequent AnimePaper's Outlaw Star section you'll see some of my scans I did. I'm from Eastern Oregon, USA. Like some of you I was introduced to Outlaw Star when it first aired on 2001. I was Sophomore in high school back then, but I was an anime fan back in 1990 watching Voltron and Robotech. Hope to have a lot of fun here with other fans.Gene tongue
Glad to have you aboard Idolo! And checked out the site, you certainly got quite a few submissions and they look great Gene grinning Would you be willing to create a thread on the forum to post your scans?
Yes, but a year and half age I had most of the art book scanned and my hard drive died, not crashed DIED. Most of those scans were the line art and rough sketches that AP would not allow for some reason. I will re-scan them when I have the time. Thanks for the welcomeGene smiling
Joe-unit welcomes you. ''Be boop bop beep.''..xD

Hello there! Welcome to the forum!!!
It's nice to meet you, Lord-Idolo. I knew I remembered you from somewhere, and now I've realised that you did post on the main site about Outlaw Star 2, and a few other things. And of course, since I have used AnimePapers, I remember you had uploaded many of the Outlaw Star scans. Sucks they didn't allow all of the submissions.

I was planning to buy a second art book for the purpose of debinding it for near-perfect scans. I can't recall if that's what you did with your scans. I'm honoured to have you here. Your scans helped me out a lot. You also seem quite knowledgeable about Outlaw Star, so when I build the wiki (I'm still waiting on the developer to finish the initial version of the software), if you have anything to add to the pages I'll create I'd welcome that.

I look forward to future discussions, be it about Outlaw Star, tractors, relationships, or various miscellaneous topics! Gene winking
Thanks for the welcomesGene smiling I did not debind the art book back then. I used an HP Officejet 6310 All-in-One. Nice flat scanner and short edges for scanning books. And some photo fixing for the binding edge. I did get a second OLS art book, really hesitant to debind my old one for now. If you go back to the our comments on Outlaw Star 2 discussion, there is a site that as far as I now still sells it. But its $59.99+$9.99 shipping at http://www.otaku.com/products/6389 if want one. Pricey granted, but I can't find one ebay anymore. The seller that had the material promo book was the last one that had a OLS art book and tried to sell it for over $70. Hard to find nowadays.
Ahoy Lord Idolo (reminds me of Where's Waldo for some reason)

Glad you decided to join OLS UK, though I am unfamiliar with these scans you speak of. I probably would've been all over it if they were freely available several years ago.

Anyway, welcome to the board and welcome a-board

If you go to http://browse.minitokyo.net/gallery?tid=880&index=3 you can download them free. The ones that are mine are scans of the back and front of OLS art book and the ever lovely Aisha Clan Clan page.
Oh, screw it! I ordered it. Gene winking Better now than when it's too late. I've seen some pretty smart debinding methods, such as one that used a hair dryer with that thingy-ma-jig attachment that concentrates the hot air. I was going to try it out with some old books, but I lost the attachment. I guess soon it's time to ransack this place. I use a HP Photosmart Premium c309-g which has a nice touch-screen display and produces decent enough scans.

I must say I love your scans, Idolo, but I'm going to spend ages trying to Photoshop the centre of some of them (the two-page artwork) to perfect the artwork, whereas that process would be made much easier by debinding. I've heard of ways to "rebind" books, so I'll have to look into that. Maybe I'll put my rebinded art book up for grabs once I've got the scans for a competition. In any case, you needn't worry about debinding your art book now.

'Tis time to think about finally getting the download section up.
Good for you Mantis. When you open the download section, I can go though my external HDs or re-download my own scans from AP and MT. I can tell you most of the surviving scan are mostly of Aisha Clan Clan since she is my favorite OLS character if not in all of anime and manga.
