A great opening to a fairly decent (but far from amazing) anime: Also, the opening to Space Pirate Captain Harlock, which I have started watching: wow that anime looks trippy is it worth watching? also how are you liking harlock so far? |

RE: best anime openings
You might like it if you like obscure anime. By that I mean it is rather weird. And it's not linear like most anime; different episodes are about different characters, etc. It also gets weirder and weirder further into the series. I recommend it though. It's not perfect but pretty good.
![]() As for Captain Harlock, unfortunately the video player I downloaded for my phone is having problems with this series. (Even though it plays most fine.) But I'll try another one. Currently I've watched one episode, but it seems brilliant already, especially since it's from the late '70s. Gene: "Have faith in me guys, enjoy the ride—you're in good hands. I can handle this. I can do it!" Jim: "How do you know?" Gene: "I don't!" Jim: "I knew it." Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!" Anime and Gaming Info

RE: best anime openings
Satoshi Kon was a big figure in the Anime biz! He took part in the art direction for Perfect Blue, Millenium Actress, Tokyo Godfathers and Paprika as well, the first 3 I've heard were very good. Paprika is pretty awesome. For the little i've seen of Paranoia Agent though, it was pretty trippy.
It's so sad that he had to pass on, though...
The hilarity of the Chat Room: Quote:(01:14:54) Somasol: also, don't forget to hit the logout button. sometimes you'll see people in chat but they'll disappear the instant you enter. |

RE: best anime openings
Nice opening. I'll certainly continue watching Gundam series in the future. Now, here's the opening to my second favourite anime (after Outlaw Star):
It is more of an adult anime. It's based on a manga, but having owned a few of the manga I can say the anime is nearly exactly the same. I couldn't recommend this anime more to anybody who likes to watch something serious every once in a while. Gene: "Have faith in me guys, enjoy the ride—you're in good hands. I can handle this. I can do it!" Jim: "How do you know?" Gene: "I don't!" Jim: "I knew it." Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!" Anime and Gaming Info

madmanmark08: You can either use the YouTube code...
Code: Or there's a video embed option when you go to the "New Reply" page. The code you've pasted won't work because HTML isn't allowed for members. (If it was, it would be quite dangerous!) You should check out the Forum Guides section, and this thread in particular. If you're ever unsure of how a user did something, you can quote their post just to take a look at the code they used. Also, I don't think youtu.be URLs will work with the YouTube code, but I might be wrong. I've cleaned up your post and embedded the videos for you. Gantz is a great anime. I loved it and I'd like to watch it again at some point. ![]() mpo48: Looks great, added to my "to watch" list. Second opening in a brilliant old anime, Starship Troopers. Gotta love the cheesy music. I could also imagine the quizzical expression on the faces of those who have only seen the Starship Troopers films expecting pure action. Below is the first opening. The anime is actually truer to the original story than the film.
