Cartoon scenes that terrified you as a kid
If you watched cartoons as a kid, there was probably a scene in at least one of them that made you want to shut the TV off and run away.
Me, I always got freaked out by this thing: Even though Brave Little Toaster is known for having ridiculous amounts of nightmare fuel, this was the one scene that made me leave the room until it was done. |

RE: Cartoon scenes that terrified you as a kid
Gaw, I can't remember what it was called,
But one day in my yester years I was flipping through the channels, And I stumbled upon a musical/ cartoon thing which might have been Lord of the Rings. Well anyway, there was this orc thing that got his hand cut off for his ring by an evil white guy. The image still haunts me to this day.

Lol, that cartoon looks familiar somehow. Hmm, honestly I can't think of anything right now. The first particularly scary non-cartoon I watched was Child's Play when I was nine, which I could laugh at now. As for cartoons... hmmm... I can barely remember but I'll get back to you.

RE: Cartoon scenes that terrified you as a kid
Not so much something that scared me, but kept me staring at the screen with a complete loss of awareness of my surroundings. I mean, just what the f*** is going on here?! "It turned out that the ghost was just Mr. Finley, who ran the amusement park. The spooky part is that, as soon as the ghost appeared, the teenagers' dog began to speak! And it spoke in a tortured parody of human speech: 'relp me, Raggy,' it would say. 'I am an abomination and rould re rilled. Rill re, Raggy.'" |

I love how it's described as a freaky stoner cartoon, which makes me think of the Magic Roundabout.

I know what you mean. Nowadays, these shows would have been banned... but not in the good ol' days of psychological trauma.

COURAGE! Man, I miss the classic Cartoon Network days. Political correctness for the lose.
I could certainly imagine why this may have been slightly freaky to a young child.

You are right Dymus.
Courage got eight kinds of freaky every episode. Do you remember the one with the woman in the puddle? I never looked at rainy days the same again.
