Outlaw Ships Forever
To segway between Crystal and whatever the game that's picked on saturday is, I've decided to do a short LP to stop myself from getting bored and to also test the waters on forum interactivity.

The game is Battleships Forever, which is free. Go play it.

We play as Admiral Ackbar / Hiroshima / whatever else name you think of as we fight pirates... Yea...

The game's short in that there's only 8 or so missions.

"Where's the interactivity?" I cry myself in an effort to make this sound like a conversation advertisement.

"Why, it's inbetween missions you silly fool. At the start of some missions we have a choice as to what ships to use. In a mission where such a thing is possible I'll accept any fleet that you can think of. If I receive multiple fleets then I'll use them all unless your suggestion is late." I reply with a stereotypical british voice.

For missions where there is no choice, I'll do those in one run.

As for fleet building, look at what's available. You have to use EVERY POINT there is. So if we have to pick a battleship and three destroyers, then your fleet must have a battleship and three destroyers.

See you in space, fellow Outlaws. Transmission out Gene lookin' cool!

* Heresiarch Grimm appears suddenly on the monitor

Hello fellow Outlaws. I have come to report the current condition of the ships we command that work alongside the military.

Our first deployment, the Hestia, can be seen here:
Battleships Forever P01: Stardate 01

As you will see, the Hestia was a fine combat vessel. Just look at how those asteroids were demolished.

There was a slightly unforeseeable event that occured, though nothing much came of it.

With our performance in dealing with these "surprises", the military saw it fit to assign us an additional vessel, the Proteus, and lead the assault on the pirate defences.

This mission can be seen by viewing this astro-scope recording:
Battleships Forever P02: Abysmal Defences.

Our next mission is a direct assault upon the pirate base itself.

We are able to requisition the ships shown in the hangar. Three destroyers and two patrol craft. I have already voiced my opinion on such matters though the fleet we'll use shall be decided by you.

In the event multiple fleets are suggested, I shall run simulations of the fight to see the other fleet's effectiveness in combat and show the results when I receive the data.

Heresiarch Grimm, signing out.

RE: Outlaw Ships Forever
Unfortunatly, you can't play multiplayer with this.

However, you CAN create ships.

Basically, go to this thread here and use the rules from that to create the following:

One Battleship
Two Destroyers
Three Patrol Craft

If I can get enough custom fleets then I'll do a "knock out" like thing. The winner may get some form of a prize.

If you have any questions regarding the ship editor, feel free to ask.

RE: Outlaw Ships Forever
* Heresiarch Grimm appears in hologram form before your eyes.

Hello again, fellow Outlaws. Once again my appearance marks the success of our operations.

Our operation against the pirate base failed the first time due to firepower issues. The second attempt failed because of enemy reinforcements.

However, the third attempt succeeded after Fleet issued a replacement Hestia for the Hestia Alpha.

The combat video was almost lost, but a relay picked it up
Battleships Forever P03: Potshot Luck.

Additionally, we have been promoted and can now command the Cronus battleship. We had to do so to assist the fleet of Task Force 16.

The performance of the Cronus as well as the end result of the rescue mission was accurately recorded with the use of a camcorder and scotch tape:
Battleships Forever P04: Titular Class.

Once again we must construct a fleet to engage the enemy. I shall wait for 12 hours before initiating combat.

Heresiarch Grimm out.

* Heresiarch Grimm Heresiarch Grimm rides in on a unicorn

Hail fellow Outlaws. These past few operations didn't go as smoothly as anticipated.

Several problems were encountered during the mission where-in we had to defend the station. All of our attempts ended in a slugging fest that took forever to end.

By use of the alien device known as "Options", I managed to correct this issue for a short time. The fix lasted long enough for the operation to be a success.

You can view the report here:
Battleships Forever P05: A Sign of Weakness.

The mission after this permitted use of a new battleship and a new destroyer. Due to time issues I had to take the initiative and form a fleet on the fly to deal with the mission.

The end result of this can be seen on the Midget Mind Meld here:
Battleships Forever P06: New Toys.

The Orion system is said to be the location of a "Game ender" weapon. We need to secure this system and fight through the Konigs, Dreizehns, Surtrs and whatever else awaits us...

...Wrong combat report.

The Orion system is where the alien doomsday weapon is travelling through. We are to intercept the ship and claim it's cargo.

The mission was recorded by Sir Elfington Dwarfstein the Fourth and a third here:
Battleships Forever P07: Masters Of Orion?

Please select the ships to be used by 8:00 pm GMT for our final operation.

Heresiarch Grimm, out.

RE: Outlaw Ships Forever
As requested by the OP, I'm closing this thread. The LP is finished, but you can view the final part at the end of the previous post.

Gene: "Have faith in me guys, enjoy the ride—you're in good hands. I can handle this. I can do it!"
Jim: "How do you know?"
Gene: "I don't!"
Jim: "I knew it."
Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"
